Older members of your family may recall family anecdotes and details that have never been recorded. In time, this information will be lost forever. Your own family documents, stories and photographs can be included in your report. We try hard to bring the past to life by including such information so future generations can re-live the lives of YOUR people.
Our Family Tree packages have two elements:
- Your Scottish Family History Report, beautifully presented in a variety of binding options
- An additional optional interactive Family Tree CD of your ancestors
Your Scottish Family History Report
Typically, the Victorian Scottish genealogy research package should document your Scottish ancestry back to the mid-1800's.
Your report will contain all the information that you would expect from a report produced by an expert Genealogist - using information from birth, marriage, death, wills, monumental inscriptions and census records, we can build a detailed picture of how and where they lived.
We will also supply on CD, a fully-sourced database in Gedcom format (for uploading to Ancestry, Genes Reunited or similar) and a digital version of your report in PDF format.
Your family tree is totally unique to you and your siblings, for this reason we encourage you to provide family photographs and documents that will be scanned and included in the story along with the documents we have found for you.
You only ever have your Scottish Genealogy researched once, we want to work with you to make it the very best it could possibly be.

Research for this package typically takes 12 to 16 weeks to complete. Depending on our current work-load we may not be able to start work on your family history for several weeks.
The feasibility assessment is usually carried out within a week of you contacting us.

Your 19th Century family is brought in an exciting way into the 21st Century. The CD allows children and adults alike to explore your heritage through the power of your computer.
Loaded with specially written software that runs from the disc, you can discover all the details in your Family History Report. The software gives you access to:
- An Interactive Family Tree - view the original source documents, photographs, family tree diagrams and see at a glance how the members of your family are connected. It works just like a website, built specially for you, that runs from the CD
- A PDF version of the report
- Photographs, documents and memories that you have supplied
- Digital Images of the original source documents (Birth, Death, Marriage, Census returns and Wills etc)
- A Gedcom file. This allows you to explore and share your ancestry using commercially available family tree software or upload to family tree websites, such as Genes Reunited
The CD encourages young people to learn of their Scottish roots without risking damage to your bound report. In addition, if you wish to have website showing your family history, all the files you require are included on the CD, simply upload to your server.
An enormous amount of work goes into the preparation of the files for this CD, so prices are quoted on an individual basis according to the size of your finished tree. Further copies of the CD are charged at a nominal fee only.
